Hi Jwalter....... I'm sorry that you are experiencing all these symptoms. I'm going to be like all the others and answer that the odds are slight that you have contracted HIV. The ultimate answer will be for you to get tested. It is not uncommon that often simply the
fear is enough that even after medical confirmation people are not infected many continue to have "symptoms".
I am going to post a link for one of the AIDSmeds forums which deals strictly with peoples questions about contracting HIV. I feel that if you can see other folks going thru the same thing that you are now experiencing you will be able to decide whether to get tested. It's also a great forum and you will learn a lot. My own personal opinion is that it never hurts to err on the safe side. For me, the peace of mind that you may receive will be worth far more than the money you'll spend at the doctors. Here's the link;
http://www.aidsmeds.com/Fusetalk/categories.cfm?catid=4The main points that I'd make are that your fears are normal, even predicatable, and that is true of your symptoms as well. I hope that this will give you
some relief. Since the body takes time to build antibodies after an exposure you will have to wait at least 3 weeks to be able to have antibodies that can be detected. If you call to make an appointment for a HIV test, be sure to ask them what their recommendations are for waiting to be tested.
I hope that this will help you......
Best wishes,
Willy
