Become an e-mail buddy (sponsor) or get yourself an e-mail buddy. Post your experience, strength and hope; inspire someone who needs a friend to reply or contact you. You can also post any of your needs and have a wonderful new friend to become your e-mail partner.
REACH OUT AND ASK FOR HELP. WE WOULD LOVE TO HELP YOU. WE CAN ONLY KEEP THE PEACE AND JOY WE HAVE... BY GIVING IT AWAY.
I works--if you work it.

I notice that this new web site seems to be very honest about the democratic attitude in philosophy, in regard to others philosophy of living, and in particular in dealing with personal HIV/AIDS. The social psychology of HIV/AIDS is sadly negligent which is really, I feel, up to the individuals dealing with HIV/AIDS as infected people or a caregivers. Professional social workers, psychologist, doctors, and nurses; do the best they can, but it is really up to the individual who must live with HIV/AIDS to create his or her own emancipation in their personal life
I have been infected with the HIV/AIDS disease for nine years, and it will be ten years in April 3, 2003. I am a practicing Buddhist, and have been a Buddhist since I was twenty-two years old. I chant NAM MYOHO RENGE KYO, and I am very greatful that I do chant, because I do feel that Buddhism has given me the attitude to live with HIV/AIDS. Buddhism holds with the idea that any claimed quintessential idealogy must be proven by how the individual profits in their individual life personally. If a persons philosophy of life does not make them happy, it will show in their daily domestic behavior and in their environment, and in turn in the world at large.
After almost ten years of my dealing with HIV/AIDS personally, and still going threw manic-depressive and bi-polar episodes mentally, I am learning how to live all over again at the age of fifty-five, just this July 2, 2002. I am making serious overtures to my psychologist, David; in returning to college, in which I have to overcome the obstacle of fear in being a student again. I would, ideally like to direct my studys in horticultural therapy and computer technology to HIV/AIDS advocacy.
The doctor has told me recently, that they cannot detect a viral load in my blood test. The test are consistant so far. I exercise with free weights, I walk a lot, I eat good food ( no processed foods ), I practice chanting NAM MYOHO RENGE KYO, I counsel homeless people and people with HIV/AIDS who live on the streets. I am looking forward to the day when I am not dependent on SSI for my income and financial support ( which I really need to depend on for the time being ).
I especially would like to say in this message, that giving and recieveing as an individual to other people who need you is a powerful agent in healing yourself.
When I chant, I chant that others may learn to use chanting to heal themselves by chanting for their success in life in order to be supportive of their fellow man , woman, dog, cat, tree and etc. I am convinced that dealing personally with the HIV/AIDS disease is ninety percent attitude and ten percent medicine. My faith in Buddhism is what creates a protective mantle for my attitude when I get depressed, maybe a little to manic, or just feeling sorry for myself, which is normal under the circumstances.
Please feel free to email me. In particular if your having a difficult time making sense out of having this HIV/AIDS disease. Yes, It is very hard.
Remember, for every winter, the spring is sure to follow, and yes, there will be more winters, such is life !

Hello,
I just thought that I would introduce myself and let all of you know of the great success of the sister site to this one at HCV Anonymous.com. My name is Laurie, user name Too_Tall, and I am 42 married 15 years, and live in LaConner, WA with my husband and 5 year old daughter, Marina...
I am not infected with HIV, however I have HCV and have been suffering with it's many symptoms for many years now. I contracted HCV through a tattoo that I recieved when in my teens. I experimented with drugs and alcohol when young as well, so who knows ? Point being.. It doesn't matter... I have it...
HCV Anonymous has been a tremendous blessing to me as well as many others who have found Glen's site. We have become a family of caring and compasionate individuals, of all religions, on all levels, and in a very short period of time. There is an open chat room that is wonderful to visit and there is usually someone in there beginning at 7:30 Eastern Time. Please feel free to come in and join us anytime. We would be very happy to meet all of you ! The chat rooms are set up so that you can see us in our room, or you can chat in your own HIV Anonymous room. It gives the list of rooms, and you may chat in as many as you like, and even at the same time ! It's awesome !
I encourage all of you to become members, post on the message board, come in to the chats in the evening, and try and get to know all of the people here. I'm positive that you will leave feeling better
We are all here for one another ! If you would like to email me, feel free to do so at any time.

Take Care !

Hi Elinor
I got your e-mail and sent you one back, hope you got it.
On the homepage for HIVAnnonymous down on the left hand side are yellow blocks......click on the one that says "New HIV Chat"......that will take you to another window where you sign in with your user name and then click on Enter and you are there! You can also get there from the HCVAnnonymous homepage the same way. I'm in there a few times a week, hope to see you there! Everyone in there is super friendly and they all welcome you with open arms! It is alot of fun and supportive and full of information! I don't know where you live but the hours for each time zone are posted. Example- Eastern Time the chatroom is open from 7:30-12:00 or later.
If you have any more questions, just ask, someone will always try to answer them for you!
Nice meeting you Elinor! Take care and Keep the Faith!

This is just too cool. I discovered the "other site" just yesterday. There's a guy over there named Joris who has offered some great advice and given me personal encouragement during a long bout of alcohol and drug abuse. Other than very close people no one knows I'm HIV/HCV positive. The doc told me since my HIV count was low he recommended do nothing. I was glad because while I was there I was reading about the medicine, and I hate to vomit. The whole thing scared me enough not to return. But I made the wrong decision and became irresponsible by drinking and drugging more until the inevitable happened and lost all family and friends. It's these two sites now that have given me a feeling of ....not sure how to describe it. Perhaps belonging or simply being told I'm being prayed for. On this Day 1 of no drinking or crack I simply want to thank the guys and ladies for giving to this site and Joris for responding to my post. Have a good night. Anyone out there you wants to email me can at

Hello ,
I am new and I Am Very lucky not to have Hiv or Aids.
But I Did Lose two Older brothers of mine to Aids.
One was in 1998 he went into a coma and never came out, and the other was this december 2004 and he was suffering alot and held my hand until he pass.
I do understand how lonely it can be , my borther was very lonely., my momDid not ever go and see them until their death cause she was not aware of Aids.
She was so scared to go in the same room until I said that she will not get it.....
But she was still scared no matter what i said, Me on the other hand. I held my brothers hand and never let go, When he was sick I tried being there for him whenever he needed me, I watch him have good days and some bad. and I was as strong as i possibly can.
I Wish I knew a place like this to talk to people and try to be there for them as much as they can be there for me.I Am Young and I Would like to chat to anyone who needs friends>
I had just found out i have MS and Will not be able to walk anymore, So I will be on the Computer alot,
So please If You need a Friend,. Like I Do.

Thanks for reading.,
Lauren.

Hey Glen,
Great work! Can we inform people to join us in the chat on Monday April 5th at 10pm est and Thursday April 8th at 12 noon est. for our first worldwide online HIVA meetings.
That would support the drive for email sponsors and buddy's. I believe that someone who may be reticent about sharing anywhere else will feel pretty damn comfortable about doing so online with someone in a remote part of the world. We can mention that we expect people representing Russia, Africa, Canada, Europe, North America and beyond.

Hello, My name is Jean-Louis, and my boyfriend Rick has just learnt that he is HIV positive. Judging by the results of his blood tests, it looks like at his next appontment with the doctor in february he will probably get tri-therapy.
I am a practicing buddhist and I was very interested to read the first message on this page, from another Buddhist who is HIV positive himself.
I would very much like Rick to start praticing too, so that he reaches within for all the ressources his life has, and I could do with help from that person. Thank you for your help !
