hey, my name is becca and i never really knew how i was affected by hiv/aids until recently... i dont have it or anything, but a couple people close to me do. i dont want to impose in anybody's life, but i would like to know how i can help in society and awareness. im doing the aids walk in altanta next sunday, and i guess that's a start, but it doesnt seem like enough. i am in a 12 step program myself and can relate to having a fetal disease and having people act different around me. if anyone has any ideas, please share them with me, i would love to become more involved Huh. thanks.

Hello, Becca

I am in the same situation.  I am not positive however I do no people who are and people who are at high risk.  I am african american, I live in an area where spouses cheat and father children, and the wives still don't require them to protect them when they engage in sex.  I am really eager to start working on awareness and education.  In order to find out what you can do, call your local health department they have all sorts of information on helping the HIV positive community.
